Privacy Notice
A-Team Repair (“we”, “us”) operates a home-repair lead-introduction platform serving Metro Vancouver, British Columbia. This notice describes the personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. For the contractual terms of using A-Team Repair, see our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
From customers: name, email address, phone number, service address and postal code, a description of the job, and any photos you upload. For SLA tracking we also store timestamps of when you submitted, accepted updates, or confirmed completion.
From service providers: name, email, phone, business name, base postal code, service radius, and the trade categories you accept. We may also store proof of insurance and licence references, which we verify at intake and renewal.
Automatically: standard server logs (IP address, user-agent, request paths) for security and abuse prevention, and cookies necessary to keep you signed in.
2. How we use your information
- To dispatch your job to a vetted local technician.
- To send transactional notifications (SMS via Twilio, email via Resend) about job acceptance, arrival, completion, and any SLA fall-through.
- To bill providers their commission via Stripe Invoicing — we never charge customers through A-Team Repair.
- To verify provider eligibility, prevent fraud, and respond to disputes.
- To improve dispatch routing, surface analytics on aggregate service-area demand, and operate the platform.
3. Who we share your information with
We share the minimum information necessary to deliver the service:
- The technician dispatched to your job receives your name, address, postal code, job description, and any photos you uploaded. Phone numbers are masked through Twilio Proxy so neither party sees the other's real number.
- Sub-processors: Supabase (database, auth, file storage), Twilio (SMS), Resend (email), Stripe (provider invoicing), and Vercel (hosting). Each handles data under their own published terms and security commitments.
- Law enforcement or regulators, only where we are legally compelled to disclose information by valid Canadian legal process.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
4. Retention
Job records, dispatch logs, and notification logs are retained for seven (7) years to support tax, audit, and dispute-resolution requirements. Account credentials are retained for the life of the account plus a short post-deletion window for fraud and chargeback review. Server logs are rotated within 90 days unless flagged for investigation.
5. Your rights (PIPEDA / BC PIPA)
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction of factual errors, or request deletion subject to our retention obligations. Send requests to the email address in section 8. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Security
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access, row-level-security policies in the database, and least-privilege service tokens for sub-processor APIs. No system is perfect — if we discover a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada consistent with PIPEDA.
7. Children
A-Team Repair is intended for adults arranging home repair on their property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
