Terms of Service
Welcome to A-Team Repair. These Terms govern your use of our website and services. By using A-Team Repair you agree to them.
1. What A-Team Repair is — and isn't
A-Team Repair is a lead-introduction platformconnecting homeowners and renters (“Customers”) with vetted local technicians (“Providers”) — plumbers, electricians, garage door specialists, washing machine and appliance repair pros, and HVAC technicians. We are not a contractor, sub-contractor, or employer of any Provider. We do not perform repair work ourselves and we do not handle the payment for the underlying service.
When you book a job through A-Team Repair, you contract directly with the Provider for the work performed at your property. Payment for the work is made by the Customer to the Provider directly. A-Team Repair charges Providers a separate platform fee for the lead and bills them through Stripe; that fee is between A-Team Repair and the Provider and is not added to the customer's invoice.
2. Provider responsibilities (insurance, licensing, work)
Each Provider on A-Team Repair must:
- Carry their own liability and workers'-compensation insurance. A-Team Repair does not provide insurance coverage for Providers or the work they perform.
- Hold any licences required by their trade and jurisdiction (e.g. Red Seal, gas-fitter, electrician) and only accept jobs they are licensed to perform.
- Quote in writing before any work starts and only invoice the customer for the approved amount, plus any change-orders the customer approves in writing through A-Team Repair.
- Not contact the Customer outside the A-Team Repair platform during a job's lifetime. A-Team Repair routes calls and texts through a privacy-protecting proxy number.
3. Customer responsibilities
Customers agree to: provide accurate intake information; allow the Provider reasonable access to the work site; pay the Provider directly for approved work; and use A-Team Repair's in-platform messaging and proxy phone number for the duration of the job.
4. Quality and disputes
A-Team Repair screens Providers before onboarding but cannot guarantee the quality of any individual job. If you have a dispute about quality, scope, or final price, contact us within 14 days of the job's completion. We may withhold or refund commission and remove Providers from the platform when patterns of bad service emerge.
5. Pricing and payment
All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). The Provider's on-site quote is the binding price unless a written change-order is approved. A-Team Repair is not responsible for the Provider's payment terms, deposits, or refund policies — those are between the Customer and the Provider directly.
6. Privacy and PII
We collect name, email, phone, and address to dispatch jobs and generate proxy numbers. We never expose Customer phone numbers to Providers or vice-versa. See our privacy notice for the full data handling and retention details.
7. Liability
A-Team Repair is not liable for Provider work product, property damage, personal injury, or any direct or indirect damages arising from a job booked through the platform. Customers' remedies for Provider issues are first against the Provider directly; A-Team Repair may assist with Stripe-side chargebacks at our discretion.
8. Termination
We may suspend or remove any account that violates these Terms, including Providers who don't pay platform commissions, who fail to carry insurance, or who circumvent the platform.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms; the latest version is always at this URL. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before taking effect.
